Southwest (Non)Availability in 2024 – Go Northwest!
Unfortunately the post-pandemic demand for golf travel to Ireland has not abated and already, as we approch the end of 2023, the most popular southwest destination is extremely difficult to organise any sort of acceptable golf itinerary feturing the premier southwest courses.
There is however availability at the Eastern courses due in part to the vastly reduced visitor capacity at Royal County Down.
2024 offers the superb opportuity to explore some of Ireland’s best links courses – in the case of Ballyliffin’s two courses the best courses in Ireland – in the Northwest region.
The tables below show a snapshot of the number of complete times (i.e. for 4 golfers) available at Ballybunion Old, Tralee and Lahinch in that order. These are the only premier southwest courses with availability publically available online. Waterville and Old Head are private clubs and do not make their timesheets publically available.
Remember that the last tee-times (if available) are likely to be 7:00, 7:12, 7:24 etc.
